I think a photograph is a picture that holds meaning that is not able to be described through words. It captures the audience's attention, and causes them to dwell on the mystery of it all. The photograph may be simple or complex, but all hold some kind of deeper meaning, possibly just an experience or an emotion. Photographs don't answer as many questions, but rather they "ask" them.
