I think a good advertisement is portraying the object well and showing what it is used for.  I think it should show the object being useful and how it could be successful.

This costa sunglasses ad shows that their product is made for fishing.  They portray it well by making the fish out of lenses and frames of their products.  It gets that they are made for fishing well by making the fish.

Tiger woods is the best and it shows that since he is the best then everyone should buy his project
