This was my first surrealism photo. I wanted it to show how God is always reaching for us. I made it by taking a picture of Casey in the studio and layering that on top of a picture of the sky and ground. After that, I took a picture of a hand and played with the opacity and layer mask a bit.
I wanted my second photo to reflect that faith is always growing. This one didn't involve quite so many layers. I took a picture of the great oak and superimposed a picture of the stone cross over it. I made it less opaque and masked pieces of the cross that didn't fit on the tree.
This photo is meant to represent the road to heaven. On the way, there are lights (or certain people) that guide you on your way. I took another picture of the sky and layered a picture of a pathway on top of it. Then I added the the lamp post and dodged the top.
This is probably my favorite picture because it represents something very personal for me. The person with the umbrella is visiting a deceased loved one while the waterfall swirls around her. It is meant to represent that time stops for no one. I took the picture of the waterfall on the 9GOA and the other two are from when I went to visit my grandfather. I layered the picture of the lady with the umbrella on top of the waterfall. Then I played with the contrast and brightness. After, I added the picture of the grave and again played with the contrast and brightness until it matched the tones of background.
