The black and white brings out the dirtiness in her dress and face. I like that the artist chose to put in the black and white because of the contrast it brings. The artist is Sally Mann.
I Think this photo shows how much the world she lives gives a harmful impact on her life. The black sky I think represents the dirty part of life.
