Article

In my opinion, photography is not over. The article had many good points about why photography may seems over, but it is not. Photography has become more digital and many people choose to take photos this way even though the photos are not the best quality. It has become harder and harder for the other people who are trying to make a living by doing photography. Most people do not understand the art and effort that is put into every photo, they just take photos to capture the moment without any true purpose. To prove my point that photography is not over, is all the new technology and editing skills created to improve photography. Photography is not even close to being over and will keep moving forward until their is no interest left, which has not happened yet.
I agree with some of the things they say about photography, but i think photography will never be dead.  Things like photography are to hard to define. Photography is a form of art and art is in the eye of the beholder.
I believe that although the article has valid points, photography is not going to disappear. True, it has become easier and more efficient to snap a photo although it is just helping those without formal photography education to express their creativity through a photo.

Article Response

In my opinion, photography is not changing. Although technology is rapidly changing and evolving, photography, in all it's forms, is somewhat accessible. Through technology, photos, although setimes meaningless and quirky, are accessible to lots of people. Although not professional, photos can be shared with people all around us and be easily taken. With the advancement in technology we have made in the last decade, I don't think photography will ever disappear. It might not be in its highest forms, but it won't disappear.

Article Response

I think the article brings up a few good points, but that, in my opinion, does not at all mean photography is "over." It is becoming more and more difficult for someone to make a living in photography because the art is so accessible, or at least people who don't completely understand it think it is. Anyone can buy a digital camera and take photographs, even if they aren't the best. Photography with film is also being seen less and less.  Almost everything can be done digitally. In a way, I think these things make photography even more of an art (in the sense that a lot of things are so difficult to do or even unknown). There is so much work that is put into a single photograph that make it a work of art. Also, the fact that their are so many new ways to edit photographs and so many new ideas about photography says a lot. People are still interested and are coming up with new things to express and new ways to express them through photography.
In summary, photography is not over; it is just moving forward
I think that Photography is not over.  Photography is just changing over time with new technology that is being used to make photography better.  Photography will never be over and it will keep becoming better

Article Response

I agree with most of the comments in the fact that photography is definitely not over. When things have been around for awhile they tend to change and transform over time becoming better maybe sometimes worse. In the case of photography I think that the technology is becoming more advanced and is not the same as traditional ways. Because of this, I think people are asking if photography is "over." It's not over, it's just changing.
I agree with the prior posts that say that photography is not 'over'.  Technology advancing is just making photography different. It is creating a new type of photography, not making it disappear. Photography will never be over as long as society continues to treat it for what it is
I dont think photography is ever going to end. I think it will just change and develop over time. This article was interesting to me because it made me think more about the pictures i take. It also made me look at photography in a different way.
I don't think photography is "over." I think that the way we take pictures is just evolving as there are new advancements in technology, therefore, there are different ways photography has changed. I personally think that photography will never be "over."

Is Photography Over?

I agree with Halle. Photography is certainly not "over".  I believe the way we look at it has changed.  What once was something that only specialized training could achieve, now can be achieved with a simple cell phone.  I feel the bar of quality for photographs has been raised.  People are going to want meaningful photos and not just "Instagram photos".  Now that photography is available to more people, the photos themselves will have to be more unique to make them stand out against so many others.

Article Response

I think this article is interesting because it proves that the pictures show a deeper meaning than just the appearance. Photography is not "over" because it is still evolving as each new generation comes in and discovers new way to shoot pictures. Photography will never be fully "over."

Article Response

I think that photography is definitely not "over". Just because technology is advancing and techniques are becoming more available to all kinds of people, does not mean that it is over. Photography is becoming a bigger part of our lives everyday. The more we advance in technology, the more new things we can discover, making photography larger not "over". The artistic part of photography will always remain no matter how much the techniques change. Photography is still growing!

Article Thoughts

I think this blog is very interesting towards photography. It shows that taking photography class is not just taking pictures, but has a deeper meaning. It has a very interesting point towards the idea of photography that I really like. This article makes me consider my photos more and the meaning behind them.
